About Pediatrics of Florence
We believe that children are more than just “little adults”
Children have unique personalities, challenges, and life circumstances and we have made every effort to make our offices and care as “kid friendly” as possible. We have an aquatic theme in the waiting rooms as well as themed examination rooms. All of our physicians are Board Certified Pediatricians and members of the American Academy of Pediatrics and our nurse practitioners are all licensed Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and are available to see both well and sick children.

Parents Are Team Members
We are your Family-Centered Medical Home, meaning we are a central resource for all of your child’s care needs. In a Medical Home, your doctor, nurse or nurse practitioner, and staff who care for your child know that parents are key members of our healthcare team. You are welcome and invited to participate in all aspects of your child’s care.
Coordinated Care
We offer a wide range of services and we can refer patients to specialists in the Greater Cincinnati area. In order to provide our patients the most comprehensive care, we ask that you notify us at each appointment of any specialists you have seen since your last visit. We will work with you and other care providers to coordinate care.

For Emergencies
For emergencies after hours, always call the office at (859) 525-8181. Follow the prompts, and an automated system will notify the physician on call so you can speak with them.
For newborn emergencies, remember that some things which may not constitute an emergency in an older child are a cause for concern in a baby under 3 month of age. View this list of potential emergencies for newborns.
Insurance Information
We accept most private insurance plans. Please contact us (859-525-8181) to verify with our staff that we accept your insurance.
If you are uninsured... We do offer a self pay discount. Full payment is due at the time of service. We would also like to encourage you to visit the Kentucky Healthcare Exchange to see if you may qualify.
If your child is a newborn... Please add newborns to your insurance policy within 30 days of birth. We do accept WellCare and Coventry (for newborns only).
Pediatric Nutrition
We have a registered dietitian (RD) and child nutrition expert on staff that has been trained in the specialized field of nutrition for infants, toddlers, children and teens. We help families with picky eating problems, childhood obesity, food allergies, eating disorders, and specialized diets.
Lactation Services
Pediatrics of Florence supports mothers and babies right from the start of their lives together. Since breastfeeding is so important, we have a certified lactation consultant on staff to assist you with any questions or concerns you may have regarding breastfeeding.
Behavior Management
As your child enters different stages of life, different behaviors will emerge. We help guide parents through these changes in behavior and help to evaluate and management behaviors that will adversely affect your child’s physical and social development.
